An Overview of Laser Hair Removal

Posted by Admin On September - 26 - 2009

Laser hair removal is an excellent way of removing unwanted hair.  This is accomplished by sending a  light beam of a specific wavelength onto the skin from the laser.  The beam of light is sent through a hand piece into the skin, where it attacks the darker pigmentation of the hair follicle.  This causes damage and destruction of the hair follicle without damaging the skin tissues around it. Some people do experience permanent hair loss, while others do need to repeat the procedure. Sometimes when hair does grow back it is lighter in color and finer and texture.

There are four types of lasers that are used for hair removal.  They are Ruby, Alexandrite, Diode, and NdYAG. Each of these four lasers are different in many ways and are used for different skin types. The ruby laser is able to focus in on small areas and can be used on both dark and light skin.  However, this laser works best on light skin.  The alexandrite laser is very versatile and can be used on many different types of hair.  It is able to focus on large areas and is very easy to customize.  The diode laser uses a much longer wavelength which makes it very effective on most types of skin.  The NdYag laser works well on people with dark hair and dark skin.

Laser hair removal is not a good treatment option for everyone.  It is not recommended for people with certain medical conditions or disorders.  It also is not an effective treatment for people with white, gray or very light-colored hair.  People that have hair of these colors do not have pigments in their hair to absorb the energy from the laser.  Laser hair removal works about system on people with light skin and dark hair. Where to Get Hair Removal Wax

Posted by Admin On September - 25 - 2009

Home waxing is a great hair removal technique.  It is also a money saving option that can save a lot throughout the course of a year.  Before you decide to wax, though, you will need to get a hair removal kit so you can apply the wax and remove it properly.  There are plenty of places to buy waxing implements and wax.  However, there are specialty products that may be harder to find than others.  Once you start waxing you may want to experiment with different types of wax to see what will work best.

Grocery stores often carry hair removal wax and accessories in the beauty department.  Typically, hair removal products are found on the aisle where shaving needs are found.  The benefit of using a grocery store to pick up hair removal wax is that it is convenient and often inexpensive.  You can pick up wax and waxing supplies while doing your regular grocery shopping.  The down side to buying hair removal wax in a grocery store is the lack of variety.  Typically, only a few of the most popular brands are available and the different types of wax offered are limited.  You can usually get ready to use wax and possibly pre prepared strips.  However, you usually can not get hard wax or a variety of different brands from which to choose.

Discount stores and super stores will also carry hair removal wax.  Super stores will often have a slightly greater selection than a grocery store but the types of wax and number of brands available is still limited.  However, you can typically get more accessories at these types of stores than grocery stores.  Also, you have the added advantage of being able to select waxing products for a greatly reduced price.  Because these stores purchase in bulk, they get premium prices and that savings is passed on to the consumer. Shaving
Shaving is the most common method of removing pubic hair. That’s probably because it’s cheap and you can do it yourself at home. Most women use a razor and if you decide to do the same, remember to use a safety razor designed for bikini line hair removal. Electric razors are more expensive but less hassle to use and a little safer.

Many women find shaving a quick and convenient short-term method of bikini line hair removal but frequent pubic hair shaving can be a pain. Side effects can include razor bumps and other skin irritations and stubble growth between shaves can lead to itching and ingrown hairs.

Bikini Wax
If you want a longer-term solution than shaving, a bikini wax is an option. As hair is pulled out from the roots, it won’t grow back for four to six weeks. Not surprisingly, the treatment can be painful, and many women are reluctant to use this method of pubic hair removal for this reason. It’s worth remembering though that the pain should be less with every treatment. Read the rest of this entry »
