Using Waxing for Hair Removal on Men

Waxing is a popular method of hair removal.  When people think of waxing, though, they often consider it a woman’s process.  However, more and more men are turning to waxing as a method of getting rid of unwanted hair.  Hair removal on the back and chest are the most popular but nowadays a lot of men are waxing even more areas of the body.  It used to be that unwanted hair on a man was relegated to excessive chest hair and back hair.  But today, a lot of men are shaving underarms, legs and even the bikini area. 

Most men used to consider hair removal on the legs, underarms and bikini area only if they were body builders or swimmers.  The lack of hair gave them a more streamlined look and feel, necessary for competition.  Today, though, hairless is in style.  While whether or not a man waxes and what areas he waxes will often be left up to the preferences if their significant other, it is more common nowadays to see men going almost as hairless as women.  Men can be waxed at home but men’s hair is usually different.  Unless you are experienced in waxing, it is often recommended for men to go to an esthetician for waxing, especially when first starting out.

There are differences for men’s waxing than women’s.  First, the hair is coarser and may take specialty products and extra care.  For this reason, men tend to have more problems with skin irritation immediately following waxing.  Bumps and redness may occur but they typically go away after a couple days.  Sweating in the first forty eight hours can exacerbate skin issues that may occur.  So, it is advisable to avoid intense exertion during this period.  Soothing creams and witch hazel as an astringent will help.  Read the rest of this entry »

Men routinely shave to remove beard and moustache. For men of course the removal of facial hair is simply a case of using shaving gel and a razor. Daily shaving renders the skin rough and gives your skin a rough and aged look and feel. This is caused by friction from the razor blade as you rub it on your face. A razor blade can and usually will cause some damages like cutting yourself or getting razor burn or etc. If you shave, the thickness of hair also increases with age.
