It seems to be the trend today for many men to want to rid themselves of body hair. Increasingly we are seeing more and more men shaving not only their chest, but also their back, arms and legs too. What is a little less well known though is that the shaving of pubic hair is on the rise too.

There are many reasons for this trend, one of which is the fact that a hair free skin is easier to keep clean, and for a man it also enables him to examine his testicles and scrotum much easier. The other reason of course is that it can help to add interest to your sexual life particularly when in a long term relationship. Many women prefer men to be free of hair around their penis as they feel it is sexier and is less likely to harbor infections.

Whatever the reason may be for shaving pubic hair, its essential its carried out with great care. In the first instance, before starting the process you should have a hot shower or bath to soften the hair in the area to be shaved. Do not use highly perfumed soap or anything that may cause an allergic reaction.

You should first shower and gently exfoliate the area to be shaved, so as to rid yourself of any dry skin particles that may have built up. Once you have dried the area thoroughly, apply a shaving cream for sensitive skin all over the area, and then gently apply the razor to the head of the penis, shaving slowly and gently downwards around the shaft. Continue to shave down around the testicles, but do this slowly and with care to avoid any accidents. Once you have completed the shave, exfoliate again very gently, and then wash and rinse the area thoroughly.

There is no need to worry if a slight rash appears afterwards, as this is a natural occurrence the first few times that you shave your pubic hair. It is easily treatable using a cortisone cream, which you can buy from any pharmacy. Also consider using a moisturizing cream (even if a rash does not appear), to keep the area from excessively drying out.
