Avoid drinking alcohol and eating dairy foods hours before going to bed. Alcoholic drinks loosen your throat, causing your tongue to fall back and obstruct your airways, while dairy causes mucus that can form in your nose and throat.

Getting healthy may just be the solution to your snoring dilemma. As mean as it sounds, overweight people are said to be more prone to snores. Studies also say that smokers are more likely to snore than non-smokers.

Look into your medicine cabinet, you may find the culprit hiding in there. Some medicines like antihistamines and sleeping pills exacerbate snoring.

If all else fails, you can undergo operation. Many snorers choose to have surgery after trying and failing each solution accessible to them. However, before considering this step, it is best to see if you have sleep apnea first. Snoring is a common sign of sleep apnea; extinguishing the former won’t ensure that you will also eliminate the latter.
