Everyone has their own “self image”. That is we all feel a certain way about how we look. It doesn’t help that we are constantly bombarded by advertisers with “perfect bodies”. This can dramatically affect our confidence levels.

It’s also true that the majority of us have features we like, and some we are very happy with. We are comfortable in our own environment at home but if we have to go out we get all worked up. So basically because we inhabit an appearance driven world we get paranoid about certain parts of our bodies or maybe even the whole thing. Because we are so looks obsessed it’s good for exploitative advertising and the fashion industry, even though it’s bad for ourselves.

Everyone has a certain facial shape. Yours may be round, oblong, square, thin, or a combination of these. So if you have a full healthy looking face, you may think it is too fat. Many people suffer from hair loss. In fact, the chances are that most of us will have a loss of hair at some time in our lives. It’s a problem that tends to be associated mainly with men and it can often be a source of amusement, but it’s not always fun for those involved.

We may start by laughing at our own hair loss but that laughter can hide deeper feelings, including concern about the way that we look. There may even be fear that hair loss leads to us looking older. Such concerns can develop into a loss of confidence too, meaning that many people really struggle. If you have any such concerns then there are a number of things that you can do in order to make things better.

It is possible to turn hair loss into a much more positive experience. Some people, for instance, choose to shave their heads, rather than simply allowing their hair to fall out.
