There are many reasons that contribute to why there is baldness in women. Women tend to think that they are prone to the ability of losing their hair. Yet, many women out there have experienced this. So, what could cause this baldness in women?

One of the things that scientists have said testosterone is to blame for hair loss in women. We all know that women contain the hormone estrogen. What they have found though is that the women who have been balding have tested to have high levels of testosterone in their bodies. This can greatly explain why they bald as they have male genetics in them.

Yet another thing that scientists have recently learned can cause the increase in baldness is the fact that many women are diagnosed with a thyroid disease. In order to find the most effective ways to stop the balding process, you should learn everything you can about hair and the phases that they go through. There are three phases in the entire process of the life of the hair. The first phase is the growth. The second phase is the thinning. The third phase is the falling out of hair.

The growth, or the first phase is interfered with a substance called DHT. DHT is produced by the body. It is responsible for the regrowth of new hair. If there is only a little bit of DHT being produced, it will cause your hair to thin. However, baldness occur if too much DHT is produced.

DHT reaches your follicles through the bloodstream and prohibits blood from reaching the follicles. Thus, starting the problem of hair loss.
