Laser Hair Removal

Posted by Jim Jawnson On May - 4 - 2012

Laser hair removal is one of the recent advancement in the cosmetic medicine field. This is a technology that continues to be developed. For example, at this point in time laser hair removal technology allows removing black and brown hair. It is still very hard and many times impossible to use the laser hair removal technology on white and red hair, but as technology develops, more and more possibilities are opening.

There are many clinics that offer laser hair removal services and many doctors that can tell you what the laser hair removal procedure can do specifically for you (based on your type of hair and skin). Either way, despite drawbacks, laser hair removal beats scouring the internet for best beard trimmer reviews so you can shave your back cleanly.

In general, the laser hair removal is a medical procedure that allows men and women to eliminate or reduce the hair coverage on many areas of their body. Though the laser hair removal is a method that allows for permanent hair removal, this is not done right away. You will have to attend several laser hair removal therapy sessions (usually five to ten sessions) during a certain period of time (usually eight to fifteen months).

It’s a medical procedure that can reduce or fully eliminate hair growth on a selected area of the body, and it works on men and women alike. The process takes 5-10 sessions of treatment over a period of 8-15 months. Only after going through the full treatment will your results be long-lasting and possibly permanent. The reason the number of visits vary is based on the type of skin and hair, as well as the laser.

The process involves a laser targeting hair follicles beneath the skin without harming the skin. It destroys those follicles, so they cannot grow hair again. As a candidate, you will be asked to stop waxing or shaving the area for about two months before laser hair removal. That way the hair can grow, and the laser will have an easier time targeting the follicles. The reason you need to attend multiple sessions is that after each session, not all follicles will be destroyed. Some will grow again, and then during the next session, the laser will eliminate those follicles. Eventually the follicles will all be destroyed in that area, and you will not need to worry about hair regrowth.

Hair Removal- All About Depilatories

Posted by Jocelyn Kinder On April - 24 - 2012

One of the easiest methods of hair removal is application of a cream or gel and wiping it off after some time to see the skin free of all unwanted hair. The keratin in the hair is dissolved by breaking the disulphide bond, and this is done with the help of chemical based formulations called depilatories. You can easily wipe it clean because the hair weakens from the surface.

You’ll be looking for any allergic reactions because depilatories are chemical based. Read the instructions carefully before using the product and test it. What you can do is put a small spot then after a given time, wash it off. Use the product after a day when you don’t see any reaction on your skin. It’s important to be careful because there are different strengths in the way depilatories are formulated. You must not use high strength products on your face without reading the instructions clearly. Removing very coarse hair without much trouble is one advantage of depilatories. The hair was not removed from the hair shaft, rather it was removed from the skin surface, which means the method is temporary. This means that the hair will grow back in a few days.

After applying the depilatory on your skin remove it in the given time or when your skin begins stinging. With the chemicals dissolving the hair, it may also cause your skin to hurt.

The Latest Spring Hairstyle- Side Braid

Posted by Rebecca Taylor On April - 10 - 2012

Most often than not, models walk the catwalks with hairstyles you wouldn’t wear in real life, but this year Alexander Wang’s fashions has shown us something that will make that leap.

For anyone who has braiding experience and enough hair to pull this off, Guido, who has been called the most influential hair-stylist in the world for his work with celebrities and designers, has created this look that isn’t too hard to achieve.

A bit undone and the perfect blend of sporty and sexy, Guido calls the look stylish.

The fact that the style isn’t sleek and overdone like the ones from the shows, fashion writers have taken notice. The hairstyle even looks messy and dirty. It could easily be done after going for a swim, a night out or after days of not shampooing.

Even if your hair isn’t fresh washed and blown out, you can start with it. Start off by combing your hair back, part your hair to one side, pull the front layers forward and tease them, pull longer hair to one side and braid it loosely.

Spread mousse through your hair and then blow drying it while tossing it around with your hands for a rough texture after washing your hair, if you want to work at it morel. Other stylists recommend sea-salt spray, then parting your hair to one side and blow drying with a round brush in sections while sweeping the hair to one side and concentrating on root lift.

After drying your hair, braid starting at the nape. Let the shorter layers around your face hang loose. You can start with a little French braiding to catch shorter strands aside from the traditional, three-strand plait which braiding consists of. You would want to braid two inches from the ends of your hair, low on the side. If you want the bohemian touch keep the braid loose.

The longer your hair the better, but if you don’t have enough hair for a long braid, then consider working in hair extensions – the runway models do it.

To secure the braid, use a snag free elastic and drape it over your shoulder opposite the part. Stylists also recommend finishing with a fine mist of hairspray, even though the look is designed to look undone.

Try it out. Wear it at home. It can be worn with sweats or jeans as it does with the latest spring outfits. Ask your stylist to do it for you if you are having a difficult time with it. If it pulls loose, don’t worry, this is the style that you can live with and a look that works for spring and summer.
